SINGAPORE : A freelance photographer, Wendy Chan,
has raised over S$10,000 for cancer stricken children after a 24-hour cycling
marathon.
The sum may not be much to some, but it will go a long way toward helping
the Children's Cancer Foundation.
Wendy started cycling on the stationary bike at noon on Saturday, and
stayed awake for close to 24 hours with only intermittent five-minute breaks.
She did not look visibly exhausted as she pressed on during the last
leg of her 'journey' on Sunday.
It helped that she had company along the way.
Some 150 people had donated S$5 each during the event to ride on bikes
alongside her.
While she didn't actually go anywhere, Wendy had cycled the equivalent
of 370 kilometres by the end of her day-long effort. - CNA |
